Joseph Martins II

FALL RIVER… Joseph Martins II, 58, of Fall River passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, in Fall River.

Born in Fall River, he was a son of Joseph Martins and Maria Jose (Sousa) Martins.

Joseph was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School and member of Santo Christo Church. He worked in the employment program at People Incorporated and participated in the Special Olympics, when he was younger. Joseph was an avid Star Wars fan and enjoyed attending religious processions and feasts, swimming, listening to music, and dancing. Most of all, he had a love for life and cherished spending time with his family at family gatherings and uplifting others with his hugs and smile.

Along with his parents, survivors include his sister: Mary Jo Gallagher (fiance Robert Gordon), of South Dartmouth; his brothers: Victor Martins, of Fall River, and Philip Martins (wife Kathy), of Swansea; his nieces: Kaytlin Gallagher, Brooklyn Martins, and Mckenna Martins.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 9:00 – 10:30 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. Fall River, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St. Fall River, MA. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
