It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph “Joe” Neronha, a beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle, and friend.
One of eleven children, Joe grew up surrounded by the love, laughter, and lifelong bonds of a large family. Those close family ties remained at the center of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with the people he loved.
Joe spent much of his life as a fisherman, finding peace and purpose on the water. When he wasn’t fishing, you could often find him in his shed playing cards with family and friends, where stories were told, laughter was shared, and everyone was always welcome.
Some of Joe’s greatest happiness came from the simple things in life, especially spending time with his wife digging clams along the beach. He never minded the hard work because those moments together meant the world to him. Many around town also knew Joe as the man who would stop to pick up scrap metal along the roadside, always finding a use for something others had passed by.
Whether sharing a laugh over a card game, lending a hand, or simply enjoying time with those he loved, Joe leaves behind countless memories that will be treasured forever.
Joe leaves behind his loving wife, his son Edward Neronha, his grandchildren, his brothers and sister, many nieces and nephews, extended family, and countless friends who will miss him dearly.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Joe’s memory will live on in every story shared, every card game played, and every walk along the shore. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
