Joseph Peixoto

Joseph V. Peixoto, age 83, of Swansea, Massachusetts, passed away on August 17, 2026.

    He was the beloved husband of Sarah Peixoto.

    Born in Faial, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of Joseph Peixoto and Maria (Vincent) Peixoto.

    Joseph spent his career as a skilled carpenter, proudly owning and operating his own business, J&M Carpentry. He was an active 3rd-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #3669. A man of many passions, he loved spending his time outdoors gardening, going for walks, and visiting Colt State Park and the ocean. He was a fan of the Red Sox and Patriots, and he also enjoyed coloring and art, tractor pulls, taking trips to New Hampshire, and returning to his roots in Portugal. Above all else, his greatest joy was simply spending time with his family.

    In addition to his wife, Sarah, he is survived by his children, David V. Peixoto and his wife Renee, Robert Peixoto and his wife Ashley, and Heather Souza and her husband Elias. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Melissa, wife of his late son, Steven J. Peixoto. Furthermore, he leaves behind his sister, Maria Moitoso, and his brother, Manuel Peixoto and his wife Brenda. He will be deeply missed by his ten grandchildren: Kelsey, Jordan, Nicholas, Ashton, Kaley, Jace, Clayton, Quinn, Ryder, and Everly; his three great-grandchildren: Leah, Jonathan, and Elle; as well as several nieces and nephews.

    His visitation will be held Saturday, August 22, from 8 – 9:30 AM, at Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St., Fall River, followed by a funeral mass at 10 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Swansea. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
