Joseph Gerald Rodgers

Joseph Gerald Rodgers, age 83, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away on March 10, 2026.

    He was the widower of the late Elaine Caron and the late Lucille Bizier.

    Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Joseph Rodgers and Conceicao (Medeiros) Rodgers.

    Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Navy before embarking on a career as a dental lab technician. He was known as an incredibly hard worker who was deeply devoted to his profession and truly loved what he did. In his free time, especially in his younger years, Joseph had a great passion for working on engines and fixing cars.

    He is survived by his daughters, Renee Cambra and Rhonda Rodgers; his stepson, Stephen Costa; his sisters, Michele Mendonca and Jeanne Howlett; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his nieces and nephew; and his devoted caretaker Lexi Brodeur, who was like a daughter to him. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Joseph Rodgers; his stepdaughter, Charlene Costa; and his brothers, Jeffrey R. Rodgers and Roger Rodgers.

    Calling hours will be held Friday, March 20, 2026, from 10 AM - 12PM at Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia Street, Fall River, followed by funeral prayers at 12 PM. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
