Lance J. Haynes

Lance J. Haynes, 65, of Weymouth, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

Born in Bennington, VT, he was a son of the late Louie E. Haynes and Marilyn (Wallace) Haynes.

Prior to retiring, Lance worked for most of his career as a quality control engineer at Tri-Mack Plastics, in Bristol, RI, and was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Lance was an avid reader, having devoured thousands of books throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed the outdoors, running, cycling, tennis and especially spending time by the ocean.   Lance may not have been the most sociable person, but if you got the opportunity to get to know him, you'd get to appreciate his one-of-a-kind wit and humor which was truly remarkable. His children were the most important thing in his life. Whenever he spoke of them, his face would light up with joy and love, and even though they lived apart, Lance never stopped adoring them. He truly cherished every moment he spent with them and held dear the memories they created together.

Lance is survived by his children: Ashley Haynes (Ryan Wooddell), of Hoosick Falls, NY, Bradley Haynes (Haleigh Dyer), of Bennington, VT, Aaron Haynes and Kiera Haynes, both of Swansea; his siblings: Desiree Brock, of Buskirk, NY, Dmitri Haynes, of Greenbackville, VA, and Kelly Haynes, of Hoosick Falls, NY; his former spouses: Deborah Haynes and Kathleen Smith; his grandchildren: Finnley Haynes and Stella Wooddell; several nieces and nephews.

His burial, with Military Honors, at Bourne National Cemetery will be announced by the family at a later date.
