Lauretta R. Machado

FALL RIVER - Lauretta R. (Fluet) Machado, 94, of Middle St., died on Sunday, April 30th at home. Born in and a lifelong resident of Fall River, she was the wife of the late Joseph Machado and the daughter of the late Edward and Rosilda (Belanger) Fluet. She was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School Class of 1940 and attended Thibodeaus Business College.
Mrs. Machado worked as a lunch aide with the Fall River School System and with maintenance at St. Anne's Credit Union of Fall River and Somerset. She volunteered for We Love Children for over 25 years. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Parish and a former member of St. Louis King Church.
She is survived by a three daughters, Lauretta M. Machado of Fall River, Frances A. Miranda of Somerset, MA and Elaine Kucikas and her husband Anthony of Somerset, MA; son, Kevin J. Machado and his wife Melody of Fall River; a brother, Joseph E. Fluet of Fall River; three granddaughters and a grandson; four great-granddaughters and five great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother-in-law of the late Armando Miranda and the sister of the late Rita Fontes and Norman Fluet.
Her Funeral will be held Thursday, May 4th at 9 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main Street, Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, Stafford Rd. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Stafford Rd.
