Laurie A. Furtado

Laurie A. (Correia) Furtado, 55, of 227 Peckham St., Fall River, died Tuesday at St. Anne's Hospital. She was the wife of Jeffrey J. Furtado. Born in Fall River, a daughter of Albert Correia and the late Lorraine (Berard) Correia.

Mrs. Furtado worked for Chartwells as a cook, serving local middle schools in Rhode Island, previously working as a secretary for over 20 years at Stuffco in Fall River.

She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She was a member of Good Shepherd Parish.

Besides her husband and father, she is survived by two daughters, Kimberly A. Furtado and Rachel A. Furtado, both of Fall River; 3 sisters, Holly Costa and Lynn Anselmo, both of Fall River and Lisa Laprise of Westport, MA; 2 brothers, Albert Correia, Jr., and Steven W. Correia, both of Fall River; a grandson, Christopher Braga; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Good Shepherd Parish. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 4 - 8 p.m.
