Leonel P. Gomes

PROVIDENCE … Leonel P. “Leo” Gomes,74, Fall River passed away December 27, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital.

He was the husband of Lourdes S. (Soares) Gomes of Fall River.

Mr. Gomes was born in Feteiras Do Sul, St. Michael, Azores a son of the late Jose P. and Conceicao (Martin) Gomes and had lived in Fall River for the last 25 years. Prior to living in Fall River, he lived in Lawrenceville, NY for 31 years where he owned and operated a dairy farm.

Mr. Gomes enjoyed Television and Country Westerns.

Survivors include his widow 2 sons: Gilbert S. Gomes and wife Josie of Portsmouth, RI, Michael S. Gomes and wife Tracey of Messina, NY, a brother: Jose C. Gomes of Westport, a sister: Mary Raposa of Westport, 4 grandchildren: Brendan, Alex, Caleb, and Jacinta, 3 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mary Fernandes.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 9 A.M. at the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St. Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at Good Shepherd Parish, South Main Street, Fall River. Calling hours will be Wednesday 5 – 8 P.M. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
