Lynn Woodward Parker

d. March 17, 2026

Little Compton, RI

Lynn Woodward Parker, 77, of Little Compton, Rhode Island, passed away on March 17, 2026. She was a creative and spirited force that brought a penchant for storytelling and adventure to the lives of those who knew her.

Lynn was raised in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, by her parents, the late Charles S. Parker and Jane Woodward Parker. She graduated from Hollins College and pursued a Masters degree in education from Wheelock College in Boston. There, she pursued her early career in teaching and met James Geisman whom she married in 1974. The two embarked on 27 years of marriage raising their four children together in Wayland, Massachusetts. Lynn’s predilection for travel and deep appreciation of the natural world filled her children’s lives with trips; camping on Cape Cod, upstate New York, and exploring the maritime provinces of Canada. The many memorable moments of those trips will live on in her family’s memory, as well as the cherished time spent as a family at Wyonegonic Camp in Maine, and at Mason’s Island, Connecticut – places that endowed her with experiences and memories as a young girl.

In 2007, she moved to Little Compton, Rhode Island, which she called home for the remainder of her life.

Lynn had a remarkable desire to connect with others and made friends in unexpected ways. She was an enthusiastic patron of libraries, participated in garden clubs, and loved dogs. Her heart was always open to wonder. She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Vanessa Farny and her husband Nathaniel, Zoe Geisman, Alyssa Parker-Geisman and her husband Mas, Abel Geisman and his wife Marien, as well as her grandson Remy. She was part of a large and loving family that includes: her brother Steve Parker and his wife Kathy, Ted Parker and his wife Kathy, and her sister Elizabeth Sanda and her husband Richard, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of life will be arranged at a future date.
