Manuel F. Mello

Manuel F. Mello, 85, of Fall River, passed away on October 20, 2025, at HopeHealth Hospice Center, in Providence, RI.

    He was the loving husband of the late Maria C. (Pevide) Mello.

    Manuel was born on August 17, 1940, in Furnas, St. Michael, Azores. He was the son of the late Jose Ferreira Melo and the late Maria Christina (Mauricio) Melo.

    A skilled carpenter by trade, Manuel worked for Homeland Builders, prior to retiring. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.

    He is survived by his son, Richard F. Mello; his sisters, Maria Lourdes Barreto and Eduarda Lourenco; his granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Furtado; and his niece and nephew, Paula Barreto and Dennis Lourenco. He was the father of the late Christine Marie Furtado.

    A visitation will be held on Monday, October 27, from 8:00 to 9:30 AM at the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM, at Santo Christo Church. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Santo Christo Church, or the National Cancer Institute.
