Manuel S. Ferreira, Jr. of Dartmouth peacefully passed away on June 2, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on November 8, 1951, to the late Manuel S. Ferreira and Georgina Medeiros Ferreira, Manny lived a life full of warmth and laughter.
After graduating from Durfee High School, Manny pursued his passion for history at UMass Dartmouth (formerly SMU), graduating in 1973. In his younger years, he cherished fishing trips with his son, Justin, and was known for his great sense of humor and love of practical jokes. As he grew older, he found joy in history, movies, the stock market, and long chats with his close friends.
Manny is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy (Medeiros) Ferreira, and his son, Justin Ferreira of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He also leaves behind Bethany, Nancy's daughter and her husband Kevin, and his cherished grandchildren, Ella and Kevin, who brought immense joy to his later years.
He is also survived by his sisters, Dorothy Grocott (late husband Richard) of Assonet, and Rose Perry of Fall River, along with many loved nieces and nephews. Manny was predeceased by his sister, Catherine Terceiro, and his brother, Joseph S. Ferreira.
His visitation will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 9 - 10:30 AM, from the Oliveira Funeral Home - South Main St. Chapel, 2064 South Main St., Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, Main Road, Westport. Burial will be private.
