Manuel Pacheco

NEWPORT - Manuel Pacheco, 76, of Fall River, died Wednesday, September 6th at Newport Hospital. He was the husband of Kathleen (Rodrigues) Pacheco.
Born in Porto Formoso, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Jose and Elvira (Marques) Pacheco, he lived in Fall River for most of his life and was a member of Good Shepherd Parish. Mr. Pacheco worked as a foreman for many years in the local textile industry. He was a member of the Academica Club and Liberal Club. He was an avid Benfica fan.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Richard J. Pacheco of Fall River; a sister, Isaura Moniz of Somerset; five brothers, Joseph Pacheco of Westport, Virgilio Pacheco of Somerset, Americo Pacheco and David Pacheco, both of Fall River and Charles Pacheco of Assonet; a granddaughter, Justice O. Pacheco; several nieces and nephews; and his pet dog Sophie. He was the brother of the late Maria Raposo.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, September 13th at 9 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Good Shepherd Parish, South Main St., Fall River.
