FALL RIVER… Manuel T. Pacheco, 88, passed away unexpectedly in his home on December 5, 2021.
He was the beloved husband of Maria Cristina Pacheco. The two were married in 1957 and spent 64 loving years of marriage together.
Manuel was born in Furnas, Sao Miguel, Azores. He was the son of the late Jose Pacheco Elizardo and Maria do Carmo Elizardo.
Prior to retiring, Manuel worked as a laborer for Capaldi Brothers and Campanella Corp. He was a communicant and devoted member of Santo Christo Parish Church in Fall River, MA., an avid fan of the Benfica Soccer Team, and a member of the Fall River Sports Club. Manuel also loved gardening, and generously shared all the fruits and vegetables he grew with friends and family. Most of all, Manuel loved spending time with his family.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his children: Joseph Pacheco and wife Amanda, James Pacheco and wife Cindy, Christina Pacheco-DaRocha and husband Joseph, Manuel Pacheco and companion Betty Costa, and David Pacheco and wife Elizabeth. He is also survived by his six grandchildren: Nicholas DaRocha, Samantha DaRocha, Ryan Pacheco, Jackie Pacheco, Jocelyn Pacheco-Meekins, and Nicholas Pacheco. He is also survived by his sister, Maria dos Anjos Pacheco, his beloved godchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph Elizardo, Maria do Carmo Guilherme, and Maria Jose Cabral.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 9 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. Fall River, MA 02721, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Santo Christo Parish, Columbia St., Fall River. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Friday, from 5 – 8 PM.
