Margaret J. (Arruda) Abreau, 93, of Fall River, passed away February 23, 2024 at Catholic Memorial Home, surrounded by her family.

     She was the widow of the late Francisco Abreau, Jr.

    Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Arruda and Joaquina (Fergosa) Arruda.

    Margaret was a member of the International Ladies Garment Worker Union and worked in the local garment industry for most of her career, retiring from the Metacomet Mill. After her retirement, she worked as a lunch lady for the Fall River School Department. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, reading, and, most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren.

    Survivors include her daughter Susan Silva and spouse Joseph; her son Frank Abreau and spouse Ulrika Timvik-Abreau; her grandchildren Christopher Silva and spouse, Matthew Silva, Jason Abreau and spouse, and Kerstin Zoschg and spouse; her great grandchildren Finn, Jack, Amelia, and Emmeline; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

    Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, February 27 at 10 AM at Holy Trinity Parish, 951 Stafford Rd. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Please meet directly at church. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Margaret’s name to a charity of your choice.
