Maria Agostinho

Maria da Conceição Pacheco Agostinho, age 85, of Fall River, MA., passed away on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026 at St. Anne’s Hospital with her loving family by her side.

    Maria was the beloved wife of the late Antero Medeiros Agostinho. She was born in Ponta Garça, São Miguel, Azores, Maria was the daughter of the late Jose Pacheco Carouce and Piedade Paiva.

    She is survived by her two sons, Dinarte Agostinho and Valter Agostinho, and her two daughters, Goretti Sousa and Dina Cooper. She was the mother in law of Manny Sousa, Charlene Agostinho, and Terry Cooper with his son Christopher Tabicias. She was the grandmother of Shawn Sousa, Chelsea Sousa, and Destanie Cooper, and the great-grandmother of Timothy Maciel, Lucas - Shaun Torres, Mia Nova and Brayson Tejada.

    She is survived by her older brother Jose Paiva Pacheco of Azores. She was predeceased by her younger brother Tiberio Pacheco of R.I. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

    Maria was the anchor of our family. She tenderly cared for her three grandchildren while her daughters were at work. She took immense pleasure in spending quality time with her loved ones and adored her grandchildren.

    A devoted wife and mother who brought warmth and joy, her passion was to create delicious meals to share with her loved ones. She had a talent for baking the best sweet bread, biscoutos, chourice rolls baked with her homemade bread and the tastiest mouth watering stuffed quahogs. She will always remain in our hearts and will be missed.

    Her visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, from 8 - 9:30 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia Street, Fall River.

    Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia Street, Fall River. She will be laid to rest alongside her late husband in Notre Dame Cemetery.
