Maria E. Borges

FALL RIVER - Maria Encarnacao (Pacheco) Borges, 92, of Catholic Memorial Home, 2446 Highland Ave., Fall River, a retired garment worker, died Monday, Oct. 9th at the home. She was the wife of the late Manuel R. Borges.
Born in Fazenda de Nordeste, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Soares Cabral and Maria da Conceicao Pacheco Resendes; she emigrated to this country in 1967. Mrs. Borges worked as a seamstress and inspector in the local garment industry. She was a member of Santo Christo Church.
She is survived by five sons, Alberto Borges and his wife Ana of Fall River, Eduardo Borges and his wife Lucy of Fall River, Joseph C. Borges and his wife Donna of Fall River, Antonio Borges and his wife Filomena of Fall River and Alvaro Borges and his wife Lucia of Dartmouth, MA; a brother, Antonio Soares Pacheco of Brazil; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, October 14th at 7:30 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 8:30 a.m. in Santo Christo Church, Columbia St., Fall River.
