Maria C. (Arruda) Borges

FALL RIVER…Maria C. (Arruda) Borges, 87, of Fall River passed away June 11th at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
She was wife of the late Francisco Borges.
Born in Santo Antonio, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel deSousa and Ana Arruda and had lived in Fall River for the past 40 years.
Mrs. Borges loved to cook and pray the Rosary, but above all, her family was most important.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Leonor Medeiros of Fall River & Fatima Reis and her husband John of Fall River, 5 sons: Antonio Borges and his wife Fatima of Fall River, Jose Borges of Fall River, Joao Borges and his wife Maria of Somerset, Carlos Borges and his wife Madeline of N. Dartmouth, & Pauly Borges and his fiancée Lisa Marques of Fall River, 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 sisters, 5 brothers and her daughter-in-law, Teresa Borges.
Funeral to which Relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday at 8 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM at Espirito Santo Church, Alden St. Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 5 - 8 PM.
