Maria C. Camara

Maria “Mary” C. Camara, 74, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family while praying together.

    Born in São Miguel in the Azores, Portugal, Mary immigrated to the United States with her family at a young age. She carried her strong faith, love of family, and proud Portuguese heritage with her throughout her life.

    Mary was the beloved wife of Armando Camara, whose love and devotion to her never wavered. Together they built a life centered around family, faith, and community.

    She was a devoted and loving mother to Michael Camara, Edward Camara, Tracie Cabral and her husband Paul, and Alizabeth Orellano and her fiancé Brian. She was also a proud and loving grandmother to her cherished granddaughter, Kayla Marie, and grandsons Aaron, Brandyn, Jacob, and Noah, all of whom brought her immense joy.

    Mary worked as a talented seamstress and later served as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Catholic Memorial Home, where she compassionately cared for others. Her life was one of service and dedication, especially to her faith community. She devoted many decades to volunteering and serving at Saint Mary’s Cathedral of the Assumption in Fall River, where she was a deeply devoted Catholic and an active member of the parish.

    Mary will be remembered for her unwavering faith, kindness, strength, and the deep love she had for her family and community. Her presence will be greatly missed, but the love and values she instilled will live on in all who knew her.

    Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 8:00 AM at Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia Street, Fall River.

    A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM at Saint Mary’s Cathedral of the Assumption in Fall River.

    Her family finds comfort knowing that she passed peacefully in prayer, surrounded by those who loved her most. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Catholic Memorial Home in Fall River.
