Maria Da Silva

March 30, 1921 — February 15, 2016

Maria "Maria Rosa" (Pereira) Da Silva, 94, formerly of Durfee St., Fall River, a retired garment worker, died Monday with her family and friends by her side. She was the wife of the late Deodato Da Silva.
Born in Mosteiros, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Mateus Pedro Pereira and Rosa (Ferreira) Pereira; she lived in this country since 1966 and was a member of Santo Christo Church. Mrs. Da Silva worked as a trimmer for several years at the former Chesterfield Dress Mfg.
She is survived by a daughter, Rose M. Almeida and her husband Antonio of Westport; two sons, Deodato Da Silva of Westport and Jose M. Ferreira and his wife Gabriela of Fall River; five grandchildren, Cindy, Matthew, Phyllis, Cheryl and Kevin; eight great-grandchildren; and two nieces and a nephew. She was the mother-in-law of the late Isabel Da Silva and the sister of the late Manuel Pereira and Maximina Mota.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m.
