Maria. L. Pacheco

Maria L. "Lena" Pacheco, 78, of Tiverton, RI, a retired garment worker for over 30 years, died Sunday at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in Furnas, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Manuel Pacheco Souza and Cristina (Guilherme) Souza; she lived with her sister Maria all of her life. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She was a very giving person always willing to help others.

Ms. Pacheco retired from the former Bradley-Scott; having previously worked for the former Bo-Mar Mfg. She was a member of Holy Ghost Church.

She is survived by four sisters, Mary Ann Batista of Fall River, Evangelina Cruz, Judy Pavao and Maria Sousa, all of Tiverton, RI; a brother, Gualberto Pacheco of Freetown; godchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Claudio, Jose and Antonio Pacheco. She was the beloved god-mother of the late Jason Sousa.

Her funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, Tiverton. Entombment in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours Wednesday 6-9 p.m. www.oliveirafuneralhomes.com
