Maria L. Pereira

FALL RIVER - Maria L. (Matos) Pereira, 90, of Fall River, a homemaker, died Monday, February 27th at home. She was the wife of the late Manuel Pereira. Born in Faja de Baixo, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Deolinda (Vaz) Matos; she emigrated to this country in 1978. She was a member of Espirito Santo Church and its Holy Rosary Sodality.
She is survived by two daughters, Diamantina Botelho and her husband Dimas of Fall River and Conceicao Furtado of St. Michael, Azores; two sons, Jose Pereira of Fall River and Carlos Pereira and his wife Ana of Fall River; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother-in-law of the late Manuel Furtado and the sister of the late Lidia Xavier.
Her funeral will be held Friday, March 3rd at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia Street, Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Espirito Santo Church, Alden Street, Fall River.
