Maria Pacheco

Maria A. (do Couto-Amaral) Pacheco, 77, of Fall River, died Friday at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jose Pacheco.

Born in Ponta Garca, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jose and Maria (Pacheco-Farias) Amaral; she lived in this city for the past 35 years and formerly resided on Third St. Mrs. Pacheco was a homemaker and a member of Santo Christo Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Theresa Pacheco of Fall River and Linda Guerin (Husband Tom) of Cumberland, RI; four sons, Jose M. Pacheco (Wife Helena) of Westport, MA, Joao Pacheco of Westport, MA, Carlos Pacheco (Wife Linda) of Bristol, RI and Duarte Pacheco of Fall River; three sisters, Aguida Furtado and Mariana Caetano, both of Fall River and Conceicao Costa of Tiverton, RI; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Gabriel Pacheco.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 8 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m.
