Maria Monserrate Sanchez Rivera, 52, passed away on April 28, 2026.

    Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she was the beloved daughter of Herminio Sanchez and Jennie Rivera.

    Maria had a vibrant spirit and a deep love for her community. She found great joy in cooking and was especially known for always baking delicious treats for her neighborhood. In her free time, she loved listening to music, playing lively games of dominoes, and took great pride in keeping a meticulously clean home.

    She is survived by her two sons, Jose Alberto Nunez and Joseph A. Nunez; her sister, Jacqueline Sanchez Rivera; her brother-in-law, Natanael Velazquez; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, the late Janely Evette Sanchez.

    Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Oliveira Funeral Home - South Main St. Chapel, 2064 South Main Street, Fall River.

    Her funeral will take place on Thursday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home. Committal service will follow in Mayflower Cemetery, Taunton.
