Maria Germana Sousa

FALL RIVER... Maria Germana (da Silva) Sousa, 82, of Fall River passed away December 31, 2015 at St. Anne's Hospital.
She was the wife of Edmundo De Sousa of Fall River.
Born in Sao Roque, Ponta Delgada, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Jose Da Silva and Maria Amelia Cabral.
Mrs. Sousa was a communicant of Santo Christo Church and had worked as a seamstress at the former River Falls Manufacturing before retiring in 1998 after 10 years of service. She enjoyed watching soap operas, cooking, cleaning, sewing and sightseeing on long drives.
Along with her husband survivors include 2 sons: Dinarte De Sousa of Warren, RI & Edmundo R. De Sousa of Fall River, a daughter: Gabriela De Sousa of Fall River, and 5 grandchildren: Christopher, Alexander, Emily & Claudia De Sousa and Charles Marinelli. She was predeceased 2 sisters and 1 brother.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday at 8 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM at Santo Christo Church, Fall River. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Monday from 5 - 8 PM.
