Marie D. Soares

Marie D. Soares, 87, of Tiverton, Rhode Island, passed away on June 19, 2026.

    She was the beloved wife of the late Diniz Tavares Soares.

    Born in the Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Pacheco and Emelia Pacheco.

    Marie was a parishioner at St. Theresa Church and dedicated her time as a volunteer and member at the Tiverton Senior Center. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, but her greatest joy in life was simply being around her loved ones and hosting family get-togethers.

    She is survived by her son, Dennis F. Soares, and his partner Diana Rivera. She also leaves behind two sisters, Virginia Lomba (late husband Manuel) of Fall River and Fatima Bandeira (husband Jose) of Brazil; two grandchildren, Dennis F. Soares III and Crystal Soares; and three great-grandchildren, Jude Rex, Liliana Soares, and Adrian Soares. She was preceded in death by her sister, Olivia Dos Santos.

    Services will be held on Friday, June 26th, with visitation from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Oliveira Funeral Homes, South Main St Chapel - 2064 South Main St, Fall River. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, followed by burial in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kidney Foundation.
