Mario J. Raposo

FALL RIVER - Mario J. Raposo, 60, Plymouth Ave., Fall River, died Friday, April 28th at home after an illness. He was the husband of Dalia (Botelho) Raposo.
Born in Faja de Cima, St. Michael, Azores, a son of Maria Assuncao (Cordeiro) Raposo of St. Michael, Azores and the late Francisco Raposo; Mr. Raposo emigrated to this country in 1981. A construction laborer for many years, he last worked for the Dow Co. in Stoughton. He also owned Raposo Fish Market on South Main Street in Fall River for several years. He was a member of Santo Christo Church.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Sonia Medeiros and her husband Paul of Fall River and Monica Duarte and her husband Jarrid of Dartmouth, MA; a brother and three sisters of St. Michael, Azores; a grandson, Zachary Medeiros of Fall River; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, May 3rd at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church, Columbia Street. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Robeson Street. Calling hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. www.oliveirafuneralhomes.com
