Mary Cruz

Mary (Abreau) Cruz, 88, of Fall River, died Monday at Charlton Memorial Hospital.

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Francisco and Maria "Gesta" (Oliveira) Abreau; she was a lifelong resident of this city.

Mrs. Cruz worked as a trimmer for the former Priscilla Dress Company for many years, retiring in 1985. She previously worked at the former Needlecraft Manufacturing and the former Chesterfield Dress.

She was a member of Santo Christo Church. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.

She is survived by a daughter, Gale Ann Cruz of Fall River and also leaves many friends.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 6 - 8 p.m.
