Mary Martins

Mary (Terceiro) Martins, 97, of Arlington, VT, formerly of Beach St., Fall River, died Sunday at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. She was the wife of the late Manuel F. Martins.

Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late Manuel R. and Francelina (Cabral) Terceiro; she lived most of her life in Fall River; moving to Swansea in 1997 where she lived briefly before moving to Vermont to be closer to her son Robert. Mrs. Martins was a homemaker and worked as a dietary aide for 10 years at the Catholic Memorial Home. She was a member of Santo Christo Church.

She is survived by two sons, Robert T. Martins (wife Claudette) of Arlington, VT and Jerry Martins of Ithaca, New York; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edith Briand and Edward Terceiro.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:45 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Committal prayers and interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 6-9 p.m.
