Nelson B. Moniz

SWANSEA – Nelson B. Moniz, 36, of Swansea, MA, died Sunday, March 25, 2018 at home. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of Gilberto T. and Maria Salome (Botelho-Melo) Moniz of Swansea; he lived in Swansea for the past 13 years. Nelson formerly worked as a laborer at FedEx in Johnston, RI.
Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Michael Moniz of Berkley, MA and Dennis Moniz of Columbus, Ohio; two nieces, Bethany Moniz and Michela Moniz; a nephew, M.J. Moniz; aunts and uncles; cousins; and his girlfriend, Nancy Sardinha of Fall River.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church, Columbia St., Fall River. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, E. Providence, RI. Calling hours Tuesday 6-8 p.m.
