Odelia Pavao

Odelia (Santos) Pavao, 95, of Bay St., Tiverton, RI, a retired sewing machine operator, died Saturday at home. She was the wife of the late Manuel Rego Pavao.

Born in Arrifes, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Ana (Raposa) Santos; she emigrated to this country in 1944; living most of her life in the Town of Tiverton. She was a communicant of Holy Ghost Church. Mrs. Pavao worked at the former Seal Sac for many years until her retirement.

She is survived by a daughter, Anne Medeiros of Tiverton; a son, Dimas Pavao (wife Lucy) of Tiverton; four grandchildren, David Medeiros of Portsmouth, RI, Daniel Medeiros and Dimas Pavao, Jr., both of Tiverton and Lindsay Cambra of Richardson, TX; eight great-grandchildren, Sylienne Medeiros, Meagan Medeiros, Bryson Medeiros, Makayla Medeiros, Jordan Pavao, Alayna Pavao, Brody Cambra and Samuel Cambra; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Manuel Pavao, Jr. and the sister of the late Diniz Santos and Manuel Santos.

Her funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, Tiverton. Interment in Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton. Calling hours Wednesday 5-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice Outreach, 502 Bedford St., Fall River, MA 02720.
