Olivia Farias

Olivia Farias, also affectionately known as Olive, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2024, at Southpointe Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fall River. 

    She was the widow of the late Joseph Farias.

    Born in Somerset, she was a daughter of the late Antone and Mary Costa, and spent most of her life in Somerset.

    Prior to retiring, Olive was employed as a supervisor for Actmedia Advertising. Beyond her professional life, Olive was known for her vibrant personality. She was a true social butterfly. In her free time, Olive enjoyed various hobbies and interests. She loved the excitement of casino trips, the creativity of crocheting and crafting, the thrill of bingo games, and hosting yard sales. 

    Olive is survived by her son Christopher Lopes, granddaughter Laura Burrows, great-grandson Kieran Burrows, brother Albert Costa, niece Carleen Makowski, nephew James Young, and several other nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Joseph Farias and sister of the late Helen Jalbert, Mary Kiley, and Tony De Costa.

    A Mass celebrating Olive's life will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at St John of God Church in Somerset, at 10:00 AM. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery will be private.
