Richard Cabral

TIVERTON…Richard "Beau" Cabral, age 75, of Tiverton, Rhode Island, departed this life on April 5, 2016.
He was born in Tiverton Rhode Island and lived a full life there on his own terms. Frank Sinatra may have sung "My Way" but Richard truly lived "His Way." He had a heart of gold and a rascally sense of humor. He was a first class jokester, and loved a good battle of wits. He saved his best retorts for those he loved most.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a member of the Howitzer Battalion 11th Artillery. He retired from the Tiverton School Department, where he worked as custodian for many years. He was a member of the Tiverton Sportsman's Club and Ponta Delgada Club.
He is predeceased by his parents, Manuel Cabral and Lena Paragon Cabral. He is survived by his brother Everett "Boh" Cabral and sisters Joan "Peachy" Cabral Lord and Madeline Cabral, daughter Tracy Holcomb and husband Peter, grandchildren Olivia and Joshua, nieces Cynthia Amoruso and Lori Whelan and nephew Todd Cabral.
The family would like to thank Richard's friends, who came to visit and offered words of support and prayers during his last week of life. We were all enriched by knowing him. The record shows, He did it his way.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11:45 AM at Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St. Fall River. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 - 11:45 AM, prior to the service.
