Richard C. Sardinha

TIVERTON, RI... Richard C. Sardinha, 77, of Tiverton passed away , January 28, 2016, at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
He was the widower of Mary (Martin) Sardinha.
He was born in Fall River a son of the late John and Mary (Soares) Sardinha and had lived in Tiverton for most of his life.
Mr. Sardinha was a Salesman for Brown & Bigelow Ad Agency and was the owner of the former Cross I'd Cow ice cream shop.
Mr. Sardinha served in the United States Air Force.
He was a 3rd Degree Knight with the Fr. J. Boehr Council of Knights of Columbus, Tiverton, longest member of the Tiverton Democratic Town Committee, and Active with St. Anne's Hospital on various committees. The Tiverton Housing Authority was dedicated after him and he served as Chairman of the Board. President of the Barclay Manor Condo Association. Mr. Sardinha was a local Artist who enjoyed displaying his work all over Tiverton including Town Hall. He enjoyed gardening, reading, and playing cards.
Survivors include a daughter Debra Almeida of Middletown, a son-in-law Stephen Almeida, a brother John Sardinha of Fall River, 2 grandchildren: Kristen Almeida, Stephen Almeida, 2 great grandchildren: Olivia Pimentel, Tyler Pimentel, several nieces and nephews, a dear friend Lola Fallone of Tiverton.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday at 10AM at St. Theresa's Church, Stafford Road, Tiverton. Kindly omit flowers and donations in his memory can be sent to St. Jude's Children Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Lane, Memphis, TN 38105.
