Fall River

To many Robert was known as Bob, Rebel, or most especially Papa. He was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois. He was an Air Force veteran and met his wife, Joy Carter, who predeceased him in life that he loved deeply and shared 35 years of marriage with. They met during basic training at a movie theater to see Blazing Saddles and they were fated ever since.

He worked as the top drive shaft machinist for Fall River Grinding/Manning Auto Parts for many years. He worked as a driver and mechanic at Trembly’s Bus Co. and he was a long haul Truck Driver before retiring as a diesel mechanic.

He was known for his strong, stubborn, and loving personality. He was an avid collector of M&M’s figurines and Diecast banks. He also enjoyed building model cars in his spare time. He was a lover of riding his motorcycle and took pride in fixing and getting it ready for the seasons to come and would enjoy going on summer drives with his wife and family. His Harley Davidson was one of his prized possessions. He was a club member of the Crazy Eights and Vikings. He was also club president of the R.I. Fifth Chapter in the 1980s. He loved his best friend Little Bear who was always by his side everywhere he went.

He leaves behind his daughter Jessica Cioe of Pittsfield, Maine and his son Justin Carter of Fall River, MA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Skylar Carter, Felicity Cioe, and Patrick Cioe, as well as his great grandson Wyatt Cioe of Fall River, MA. His father Robert E Carter of Illinois and his brothers and sisters.
