NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA — Ronald J. Vincent, 83, formerly of Tiverton, RI and Port St. Lucie, FL, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2026, following a long illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Janice (Landry) Vincent.
Born January 19, 1943, in Fall River MA, he was the son of the late John and Georgianna (Viveiros) Vincent. He attended the Barker, Lincoln and Pocasset schools in Tiverton and graduated from BMC Durfee High School in Fall River.
He and his wife lived most of their lives in Tiverton, retiring to Florida in 2004, and returning home in 2018.
He worked at Mackenzie & Winslow starting at age 18, then began a long career in the bus transportation industry at Short Line Bus Company, later Bonanza Bus, retiring as Superintendent of Maintenance.
He enjoyed watching European soccer and the Patriots, attending Seekonk Speedway and the Westport Fair, and visiting with his buddies at Towne Motors, but his true happiness came from being the patriarch of a large and loving family.
He is survived by his children and their spouses: Diane Mello (David), Lisa Vincent (Roger Guillemette), Kim Placido (Michael) and David Vincent (Emily); his 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister, Joan Vincent; sister-in-law, Linda Landry; and brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Joyce Landry. He was predeceased by brother-in-law Len Landry.
His visitation will be held Friday, August 21, from 8 – 9:30 AM, at Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St., Fall River, followed by a funeral mass at 10 AM at St. Theresa’s Church, 265 Stafford Road, Tiverton. Interment will follow at Pocasset Hill Cemetery.
