Rose Marie (LeBlanc) Leinberry, 93, of Tiverton, RI passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at her home, surrounded by family. Known by her friends and family as Terry, she was 93.
Terry was the loving wife of David C. Leinberry for 71 years. David predeceased her by 10 days.
Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of Marie Louise LeBlanc (Williams) and grew up in Newton and Waltham, MA and Belle Cote, Nova Scotia. She was an excellent student and graduated from Newton High School. In later years she attended Framingham State University.
Terry, a longtime resident of Framingham and Southboro Massachusetts was a devoted helper and creative spirit. She served as bookkeeper at Sherborn Motors then Natick Subaru. She was a Girl Scout Leader, ice skating instructor, ice dancer, and office assistant to Senator David Magnani for several years. Terry was devoted to her three children and grandchildren.
After moving to Tiverton, RI she was a member of the Portsmouth Senior Chorus and a bridge club, a founding member of her local Mahjong group, and an avid lover of flowers.
Terry will be lovingly remembered as a devoted mother and wife, helping her family with any project when requested. She had an inquisitive mind and was an avid reader. She welcomed new acquaintances and experiences. When travel was mentioned, her bag was quickly packed. She could often be found in her garden or enjoying a local restaurant.
As it was a life dream to have an ocean view, she and Dave enjoyed every sunset at their home in Tiverton. In later years she had her daily visits with David at the RI Veterans Home.
She leaves behind three children, Beth Leinberry of Portsmouth, RI, Gayle Leinberry and her partner Hugh McCusker of Bedford, MA, and David Leinberry, JR of Marblehead, MA. She will be missed by her four grandchildren, Leo Makowski, Micah Makowski, Madelyn Leinberry, and Sierra Leinberry.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to https://giving.brownhealth.org/RIH/cancer-institute where she received life saving treatment for colon cancer at 90.
