Rosemarie B. (Boschen) Buote, age 86, of Dighton, Massachusetts, passed away on September 27, 2026, at St. Anne's.
She was the beloved wife of the late Victor Roy Buote.
Born in Jamaica, New York, she was the daughter of the late George Frederick and Mary (Bernadich) Boschen.
Rosemarie spent her career working in education, retiring in 2002 after serving as a special education teacher and behavior management specialist for the Department of Education, working in Educational Services in Institutional Settings (ESIS), Division of Youth Services ( DYS), Tri-County District, in Taunton and Brockton, Massachusetts. She held a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education and psychology, from Barrington College, as well as Master of Education degrees from Rhode Island College and Fitchburg University. She also served on the Gordon Collage Alumni board, Wenham MA, 1989-1982;
Deeply connected to her faith and community, she was an active parishioner at the Church of Our Savior, where she served as a lay eucharistic minister and member. In addition, she was a Board director of Episcopal Diocese Massachusetts; she also served on the Conservation Commission, town of Dighton, 1971-74; she was a Dighton Cultural Council Secretary, 2016-2020. Rosemarie was also a member of the Massachusetts American Association of University Women (AAUW), past President of AAUW Taunton area branch 1996-98 and Secretary 2003-06; she was a member of the Retired Educators Association, Massachusetts; a member of the council of Children with Learning Disabilities, a member of Council of Children with Behavioral Disorders, a member of the Council Exceptional Children. She was a member of the Southeastern New England Marine Educators, also the National Marine Educators Association. She was a Secretary on the Bristol County Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Massachusetts Ladies Tea Guild, a member of the Red Hat Society, and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, 2002-present. Throughout her life, she contributed her time as a volunteer usher for the Providence Performing Arts Center, President of the Friends of the Taunton Library Board, she was a dedicated member and past president of the Dighton Garden Club. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, writing, gardening, theater, and travel.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kristine Marie Enos and her husband James, and Alissa Jane Cassidy and her husband Sean. She also leaves behind her sister, Eileen Metzler, and three grandchildren, Daniel, Rebekah, and James.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 6th, at 10:30 AM at the Church of Our Savior, in Somerset, officiated by Rev. Faith Mbuthia. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to El Rancho del Rey Christian Mexico Boys Home at elranchodelrey.org.
