Sandra Ann Ratcliffe

Sandra Ann (Lima) Ratcliffe, “Sandy”, passed away Friday, June 13, 2025, at the John Clarke Retirement Center in Middletown, Rhode Island.

    Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Lima and Sarah (Arruda) Lima.

    She was the loving wife of Harold H. Ratcliffe Jr., “Butch”, to whom she had been married to for over 61 years.

    Along with her husband, she is survived by her sons Kevin Ratcliffe (wife Cindi James-Ratcliffe and family) of West Warwick and Keith Ratcliffe of Tiverton. She is also survived by her sister Joyce Leite and brother-in-law Abel of New Bedford, her sister-in-law Carole Graham of North Carolina, her niece Heather Graham Smith of Newport, nephew Scott Graham of Texas and niece Maia Chrupcala Marino of Newport.

    Sandy dedicated most of her career to working as a human resources associate at Raytheon for over 42 years. She was an avid game enthusiast who enjoyed playing bingo, rummy, cribbage, blackjack and she was quite competitive in her pursuits. Sandy loved to read and was passionate about baking and cooking, with people frequently requesting her recipes, especially her famous whiskey cake. She also enjoyed listening to music and expressing her creativity through painting and arts and crafts.

    The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at John Clarke Nursing Center for their exceptional care and compassion provided to Sandy and her family. Sandy particularly enjoyed participating in the bingo games and activities at the center and considered the staff like family.     Initial services will be private. A celebration of life party will be planned in the future.
