Silvio Marques

Silvio Marques, 69, of Fall River, Massachusetts, passed away at home on October 24, 2026.

    He was the beloved husband of Maria Rosario “Rosie” (Carvalho) Marques.

    Born in Chaves, Portugal, he was the son of the late Anibal Marques and the late Carminda G. Pinto.

    Silvio spent his career working as a machine operator and truck loader, having been employed over the years by Quaker, Swan Finishing, and Horner Millwork. He was deeply connected to his faith and community as a long-time parishioner of Santo Christo Church since 1980.

    In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and working with his hands. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, including his beloved grand-pups, Ollie and Raina.

    In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children, Steven Marques, and Carline Monte and her husband Michael; his granddaughter, Skylar R. Monte; five siblings living in Europe; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two of his siblings.

    His visitation will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 5 - 8 PM at Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia Street, Fall River. His funeral will be held on Saturday, October 31, beginning at 9:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Santo Christo Church. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
