Tiberio F. Borges

SWANSEA… Tiberio F. Borges, 75, of Swansea passed away at home surrounded by his loving family, Monday, May 23, 2016.
He was the husband of Maria I. (Figueira Fortuna) Borges. He was born in Povoacao, St. Michael, Azores a son of the late Jose, Jr and Maria (Moniz Franco) Borges and had lived in Swansea for the last 30 years.
He was employed as a laborer with many mills, one being Tiltson Rubber Co., retiring after 23 years.
Mr. Borges was a Communicant of Santo Christo Church, where he was very active member. He was in charge of the Santo Christo Feast in the 1980's. He was Past President of the Convivio Do Concelho Da Povoacao. He was one of the founding members of the Holy Ghost Feast at Kennedy Park. He was Past Secretary of Acoriana Band. Mr. Borges enjoyed church and family.
Survivors include his widow, 2 daughters: Ana I. Rodrigues of Swansea, Lucrecia F. Borges of Fall River, 7 Sons: Tiberio M. Borges of Fall River, Jose F. Borges of Taunton, Eusebio Borges of Fall River, Roberto C. Borges of Swansea, Leonardo M. Borges of Somerset, Ricardo J. Borges of Fall River, Michael P. Borges of Dighton, 4 Sisters: Maria J. Vieira of the St. Michael, Azores, Nascimente Borges Vieira of Brazil, Natalia Dias and Fatima Melo both of Fall River, 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday at 7:30 AM from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME 215 Columbia Street, Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 8:30 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia Street, Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 - 8 PM.
