Virginia da Conceicao Resendes

Virginia da Conceicao (Raposo) Resendes, 87, of Spring St., Fall River, a retired presser, died Tuesday at Somerset Ridge. She was the wife of the late Joao J. Resendes.

Born in Sao Roque, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Maria da Conceicao Silva; she resided in Fall River for the past 38 years and was a member of Santo Christo Church. Mrs. Resendes worked for several years at the former Darwood Mfg.

She is survived by a daughter, Grace Falcao (husband Manuel) of Canada; three sons, Jose Domingos Resendes (wife Margarida) of Fall River, Humberto Resendes (wife Fatima) of Fall River and Joao Resendes (wife Natalia) of Fall River; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 8 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 5 - 9 p.m.
