Wade H. Morse

d. January 12, 2026

Tiverton, RI

Wade Herbert Morse, 83, of Tiverton, RI, faithful servant of the Lord, was a dedicated/devoted husband to his wife Yolanda for over 58 years, beloved father to his son Daryl of Providence, RI, his daughter Chanda and her husband Robert of Tiverton, RI and exemplary grandfather (aka “Bado”) to his grandsons Tyler and Devon Beck. Wade was born in Newburyport, MA, 2 December 1942 to the late Herbert Edwin Morse Jr, and Marilyn Morse.

After battling courageously for four weeks, Wade entered the presence of the Lord and passed away Tuesday January 12, peacefully in St Anne’s Hospital, Fall River, MA surrounded by his adoring family.

Wade graduated from Haverhill High School in 1960, he then earned his initial degree from Wentworth Technical Institute, bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University, master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Umass Dartmouth (formerly SMU), and honorary Doctoral Degree from Wentworth Technical Institute in 2013. He spent his entire career as a mechanical engineer with the VLS Group at NUWC (Naval Undersea Warfare Center), Newport, RI, for more than 27 years.

Wade proudly served with distinction in the U.S. Air Force, from 1964 to 1968. He served mainly as an Auto Flight Systems Specialist, primarily working on C-130 aircraft, with the 1370th Field Maintenance Squadron, at Forbes AFB Georgia. Although Wade was stationed at numerous bases worldwide, predominantly, his squadron’s mapping wing performed joint operations in Bogota, Colombia SA. with the Colombian Air Force. Wade was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force in 1968, retiring from the military as a sergeant.

Outside of his profession, Wade was a lifelong learner and enthusiast with wide-ranging interests. He was an avid aviation enthusiast and a devoted lover of classic and hot rod cars, spending countless hours meticulously restoring his cherished 1939 Ford Deluxe Coupe—a project that reflected both his patience and pride in craftsmanship. During his military service, he embraced adventure through scuba diving, and travel. Throughout his life he remained a passionate history buff, especially enjoying military history programs shared side by side with his son. As a boy he played ice hockey, a love that endured into adulthood, especially watching the next generation of hockey players in the family; (Daryl, Tyler and Devon). Wade truly loved Jesus with all his heart, and lived his faith quietly through kindness, honesty, and humility. Soft-spoken and deeply spiritual, he was a good and honest man whose gentle presence and steady character left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Wade is now at peace in the arms of his Savior. We rejoice in the promise of eternal life.
