William Lima

TIVERTON… William Lima (Bill), 82, of Tiverton, passed away at his home on Friday, January 13, 2023. He was the loving husband of Maria (Cambra) Lima for 61 years. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Alfred M. Lima and Rose (Almeida) Lima.

Bill was a 1959 graduate of Diman High School’s Machine Shop Program and was a highly skilled machinist in his early days at Honeywell and Raytheon’s Submarine Signal Division before starting his own business, Accra Machine Company, in Tiverton. He was also a handyman who was always involved with projects. In his free time, he enjoyed his second love of boating and fishing along the New England coast and its tributaries.

Along with his wife, survivors include his children: William Lima, Jr., of Acushnet, MA and Joanne Peterson, of Houston, TX; his siblings: Marilyn Gordon, of Virginia, George Lima, of Somerset, MA, and Patricia Gilbert, of Virginia; his grandchildren: Matthew Lima, Dylan Schaeffer, Andre Lima, Jonathan Lima, and Logan Peterson; several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Daniel Lima and Rosalie Pacheco.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 20, 2023, from 9:00 – 11:00 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home – South Main St. Chapel, 2064 South Main St. Fall River, MA, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton.
