William Raposa

William “Billy” Raposa, age 73, of Fall River, Massachusetts, passed away on July 29, 2026.

    He was the beloved husband of Maria Luisa (Silva) Raposa.

    Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Manuel Raposa and Irene (Pereira) Raposa Da Costa.

    William dedicated his professional life to the garment industry, working skillfully for many years as a spreader and cutter. Outside of the profession, William was a jack of all trades. From carpentry, mechanics, electrical, plumbing; he did it all and was a perfectionist. He was a man with much depth: inquisitive, intellectual, thoughtful, innovative, and wise. He loved animals, James Bond movies, American History, War History, American muscle cars, classic rock, and motorcycles. He was a fan of the New Orleans Saints, claiming he choses to root for the underdogs. That’s just the type of man he was. Most of all, he loved his family and dedicated his life to them.

    Besides his beloved wife, he is survived by his four children: Christine Raposa, Melissa Raposa and cherished companion Aldina Camara, Cynthia Raposa and lifetime partner Victor Lourenco, and William Raposa. William also leaves behind his sisters: Luisa Estrela, Rosemary Da Costa, and Vivian Silva; his step-brothers, Liberal Da Costa and Valdamar Da Costa; his six cherished grandchildren: Tylor Raposa, Kiara Raposa, Kailyn Lourenco-Raposa, Victorianna Lourenco-Raposa, Briella Lourenco-Raposa, and Preston Raposa; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved cat and partner-in-crime, Honey.

    He is predeceased by his half-siblings Joseph Raposa, John Raposa, Cecilia Pontes, Deolinda Silva, Angela Pexinho, and Edna Cloy.

    The family would like to show immense gratitude to the angels on Earth at Hanover Hospice: his nurse Caroline, aid Hailey, and everyone else on his team that took such great care of him in his final moments.

    His visitation will be held Friday, August 7th, from 6 - 8 PM, at the Oliveira Funeral Homes - South Main St. Chapel, 2064 South Main St., Fall River, MA.
