APEX, NC… Angela Linda Cruz Beavers, age 77 passed away peacefully in her home in Apex, NC, on Thursday, October 21st. Larry, her beloved husband of 54 years was, as always, by her side. Born on February 4th, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Angela Cruz. Angela was born and raised in Fall River, Massachusetts and graduated from Durfee High School, Nyack College and Roger Williams University. After graduating college, she dedicated her career to education, serving as an elementary school teacher for more than 40 years.
Angela had a gift and passion for music and was an active member of her school, church and community choirs. She was most recently a proud member of the Greater Tiverton Community Chorus before moving to North Carolina. Angela had many hobbies. She loved collecting antiques, cross-stitching, quilting, reading, playing games, and jewelry-making.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Louisa Cruz. Angela is survived by her husband Larry, her three daughters; Laura Speer of Baltimore MD, Jennifer Marshall (and husband Bob) of Fall River MA, and Emily Herndon (and husband Jim) of Apex, NC; grandchildren Taylor Marshall of Owings Mills, MD, Maddie and Caroline Herndon of Apex, NC and great grandson Oliver Murray of Owings Mills MD.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Angela’s life with us on Saturday, October 30th, at 11AM at the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St, Fall River, MA 02724. Calling hours will be held from 9 - 11 AM, prior to the service. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River.
