Beatrice C. (Botelho) Moniz

TIVERTON… Beatrice C. (Botelho) Moniz, 83, of Tiverton, RI passed away Friday, March 3, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was the loving wife of the late Antone J. Moniz, to whom she had been married to for 61 years.

Mrs. Moniz was born in Fall River, a daughter of the late John Botelho and Beatrice (Moreira) Botelho.

Beatrice spent the majority of her career working as a real estate agent for the former Fiddler Real Estate, in Swansea. Prior to retiring, she also worked part-time as a teaching aide at the Ranger School, in Tiverton. She was a dedicated parishioner at St. Theresa’s Church in Tiverton, where she was also a cantor and member of the choir for almost 50 years. She loved music and participated in several choral groups and glee clubs. Beatrice also was an avid boater, with her husband, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughters: Susan White of Tiverton, RI, Elizabeth Ann Moniz (Rachel) of Dartmouth, and Jennifer Lynn Rego (Jason) of Tiverton; her grandchildren: Melinda, Thomas, Taylor, Jared, and Grace; her great-grandchildren: Adriannah, Harley, and Alexia; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Anne Browe.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday, March 10, 2023 at 8:30 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St, Fall River, MA 02724 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 265 Stafford Rd, Tiverton, RI. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
