Dolores (Furtado) Ventura

FALL RIVER…Dolores (Furtado) Ventura, 83, of Fall River passed away June 9, 2021 at home, surrounded by her family.

She was the loving wife of Joseph J. Ventura, Sr., to whom she had been married for the past 65 years.

Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Joseph P. and Noemia “Emma” (Roderique) Furtado and had been a lifelong resident of this city.

Mrs. Ventura was a communicant of Holy Trinity Parish in Fall River. She spent her life working in the home and caring for her family while her husband ran their family business, Ventura’s Meat Market. Family was everything to Dolores, whose love and generosity transcended the generations, helping anyone in any way she could.

Along with her husband, survivors include her daughters: Jackie Crawford of Fall River, Debra Casper of Somerset and Brenda Denny of Westport; her sisters: Irene Sanford and Margaret Edwards, both of Fall River; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1  great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Joseph J. Ventura, Jr., grandmother of the late Joseph J. Ventura, III and was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister.
