Obituary

Eugene “Geno” Franco, 83, of Assonet, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023, at St. Anne’s Hospital, in Fall River.

Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Antone Franco and Marianna Franco.

Geno worked as a cook for most of his career at Cosmo’s Pizza, Village Pizza, and Junior's Convenience Store and Sandwich Shop. He enjoyed playing cards with his brothers and was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Celtics, Steelers, and any baseball team that beat the Red Sox. But, most of all, he will be remembered for his huge heart and the love he had for helping people.

He is survived by his sister Lorraine Franco, of Fall River; his brothers Manny Franco and Antone Franco, Jr. (wife Geraldine), of Fall River, and Ron Franco (wife Cecilia), of Somerset; several nieces and nephews; his life-long friends Cody Velozo, Chuck Stone, and Sabrina Vieira, who he considered his adopted grandchildren; his great grandchildren Joanna Harris and Maia Harris.
