Henry J. Araujo, Sr., of Fall River, passed away on April 24, 2022, at St. Anne’s Hospital, in Fall River.
He was the husband of the late Barbara Jayne (Cambra) Araujo, to whom he had been married to for 63 years.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Joseph L. Araujo and Angelina (Cordeiro) Araujo.
He was the owner of Dedicated Truck Service and a United States Marine Corps Veteran, during the Korean War Era. After retiring, Henry worked as a mechanic at Young Farms, in Little Compton. He was an avid custom car enthusiast and built many custom racecars. A master craftsman, there wasn’t a part he could not fabricate himself. When he was not building his cars, he enjoyed spending his summers at his summer house in Little Compton.
He is survived by his sons Henry (wife Linda) Araujo, of New York, and Mark Araujo, of Fall River; his daughter Barbara (husband Michael, Sr.) Croteau, of North Dartmouth; his grandchildren Henry Araujo, III, John Araujo, Sr., Dorothy Chicoski, Ashley Wulforst, Alexandria Croteau, and Michael Croteau, Jr.; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Saturday, May 7, from 9:00 - 11:00 am at the Oliveira Funeral Home - South Main Street Chapel, 2064 South Main Street, Fall River, MA. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am in the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River.
