Ildeberto Alves

Ildeberto Manuel DaSilva Alves, 81, of Fall River, passed away January 9, 2024 at Clifton Rehabilitation and Nursing, in Somerset, surrounded by his family.

He was the husband of Tina (Gores) Alves.

Born in Terceira, Azores, he was a son of the late Manuel Alves and Maria Merces (DaSilva) Alves.

Before retiring, Ildeberto worked as a weaver at the former Quaker Fabrics, and prior, in Terceira as a professional photographer. He was a member of the LUSA, CISA, and LASA Clubs and an avid soccer fan, especially of C.F. Os Belenenses, and also a fan of the Celtics, Bruins, and Red Sox. He was also the coach of Athletic Club and a soccer referee for many high school and recreational leagues in the state.

Along with his wife, survivors include his children Al Alves (spouse Etelvina), Jorge Alves (spouse Kathleen), Paul Alves (spouse Kevin Cabral), and Stacey Pereira (spouse Jonathan); his sister Manuela Miguel; his grandchildren Shane Alves, Tori Alves, Doriann Alves, Riley Alves, Kaylee Alves, Ryan Alves, Nevan Pereira, and Kelsey Alves; his great grandchildren Victoria Medeiros, Carter Cantin, Aubree Cantin, and Miller Cantin; several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Maria Alice Goulart and Helio Alves.

His funeral will be held Monday, January 15, at 9 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Michael’s Church, Fall River. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Sunday evening from 5 to 8 PM.
